KDS Windsor, which has offices and manufacturing facilities in Hendersonville, North Carolina, is strongly focused on supplying Continuous Drying Kilns to the lumber industry. KDS Windsor branded their design as CDKs for Continuous Drying Kilns, a name that is now somewhat generic.                  Besides CDKs, the KDS Windsor dry kiln product line includes direct-fired or indirect heat high temperature batch kilns, conventional temperature package and track kilns for drying SYP, plus “all-aluminum” kilns for drying hardwoods, and recently developed “24 hour” drying kilns for drying and sterilizing firewood. The company offers burner systems using sawdust or dry shavings as fuel. Also offered are in-kiln moisture content measuring and monitoring systems to prevent over-drying and produce tight standard deviations, and in-line moisture measuring systems for planer mills. KDS Windsor can also supply fuel transfer systems, silos and unloaders.                 KDS Windsor is the world’s largest manufacturer of CDKs according to Andy Pollard, the license holder of the continuous dry kiln technology. Jet Aviation is relocating to a new, larger facility at Riyadh Airport’s private aviation terminal, which is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter. This move comes as the company marks its 40th anniversary in Saudi Arabia, with plans to expand operations further in the key Gulf Cooperation Council destination. The two-story FBO will include a ground-floor reception and three VIP lounges, while the upper floor will accommodate a crew lounge. “The facility also features an office located airside for handling and line crew,” it said. Jet Aviation’s Riyadh FBO services include passenger and baggage handling, immigration and customs clearance, transportation, hotel, and catering coordination, and aircraft refueling. “With the expected traffic growth to Riyadh in coming years, the additional space is necessary and offers great benefit in terms of passenger and crew comfort,” said Khaled Al-Ghamdi, general manager of Jet Aviation Saudi Arabia. “As the country’s capital and main business center, Riyadh is a key strategic location for us.” Jet Aviation Saudi Arabia is a joint venture company with local partners. It was the first company to set up an FBO in Saudi Arabia. and o...

Continetti: Trump Administration Has Made ‘Remarkable Progress’ With North Korea Sanctions

Washington Free Beacon editor-in-chief Matthew Continetti on Tuesday defended the Trump Administration’s “remarkable progress” in terms of sanctions on North Korea. Continetti appeared on MSNBC’s Meet the Press Daily, where he participated in a panel conversation on several issues, including President Donald Trump’s foreign policy. “I would say this though about the policy. The policy of maximum pressure is different from the policy of strategic patience which the Obama, Biden administration put in place and which led in part to North Korea being the number one national security threat at the time of the transfer of power in 2017. That’s what Obama told Donald Trump,” Continetti said. “Since then, we’ve seen remarkable progress actually in terms of both the sanctions on North Korea and some of the signals that Kim Jong-Un has sent in terms of releasing hostages, the remains, and not firing the long-range missiles, but Trump needs to focus on the success of his policy,” Continetti continued. Carol Lee, a correspondent for NBC, chimed in and said, “None of that is happening,” prompting Continetti to pus...

Instead of classic beach houses with cedar shingles, developers are building more sleek, contemporary homes with flat roofs and lots of glass. When it comes to new construction, traditional houses with cedar shingles and gambrel roofs have given way, over the last few years, to sleek, contemporary homes or modern farmhouses with gables, standing-seam metal roofs and board-and-batten siding. White shingles and black windows are all the rage. Interiors are modern; moldings are passé. Beyond the dunes, from Westhampton Beach to Montauk, new forward-looking modern beach houses designed for indoor-outdoor living — with flat roofs and floor-to-ceiling walls of glass — pepper the landscape. “The styles are pretty much cyclical,” said James McDonough, a principal of McDonough and Conroy Architects, in Bridgehampton. Though traditional architecture is tried and true, “it’s in and out,” he said. “Now it’s back to modern.” Recently Mr. McDonough collaborated on the design of a $53.9 million contemporary spec house on Meadow Lane in Southampton, known as Billionaire’s Row. “You begin to see the modern at the water,” he said. “It’s really where people would experiment. It’s where it would b...

Recycling Needs Drive Innovation in Sleeve Labels : Plastics Technology

Materials suppliers and film processors have been hard at work creating new label offerings compatible with PET bottle recycling. Eastman partnered with Sun Chemical to advance the development of an adhesive that enables shrink labels such as those shown here to deseam and release during the bottle-wash step of the wet recycling process. Using Topas COC, Taghleef Industries introduced its polyolefin TDS film that is clear and floatable with up to 65% shrinkage. Topas says its COC enables label manufacturers to make low density, flotation separable labels that meet APR guidelines. Shrink-sleeve labels: You see the eye-catching designs everywhere these days on food, beverages and consumer products. Brand owners love them because they offer plenty of real estate on the container to communicate what the product is and overall messaging on a 360° marketable area of the package. And the trend isn’t slowing down—the shrink-label market is expected to grow at a 5.2% annual rate through 2021, reaching $245 million in sales, according to The Freedonia Group’s study, Stretch & Shrink Sleeve Market in the U.S. While the labels are a success story for brands, they also present a headach...

Are you looking to install a new roof this year? Jumpstart the project – prepare yourself with the facts on roofing materials before you even hire a contractor. Acrylic is a fantastic material to create intricate designs. With a Laser Cutter, you can cut

Acrylic is a fantastic material to create intricate designs. With a Laser Cutter, you can cut any 2D design you want! In this article, we explain the process of creating a vectorial design and share a few hints to simplify the intricate process of laser cutting acrylic. First thing’s first: Before getting into laser cutting acrylic, it’s important to understand what a laser cutting machine is and how it works. A laser cutting machine is a device that uses a beam of radiation to cut, fuse, connect, and evaporate materials. It’s a technology centered around high speed and precision. A typical laser cutter connects a computer and works in the X and Y axes. (In other words, it’s a bidimensional machine.) The computer controls the laser (power, frequency, speed). Other aspects — like table setup, lenses and focus, exhaust, gas, and material preparation — must be done manually. All these variables can influence the quality of the laser cut. With the acrylic sheet in place, the laser will vaporize the solid material, creating a thin, smooth, and glossy surface with extreme precision. To laser cut, it’s important to have a good vector model. This model is comparable to a drawing with a...

Braiden Maither’s New Edit “Torqued” Embodies Maui Surfing

While the North Shore has been pumping with a solid string of westerly swells this winter, Maui’s experienced somewhat of a lackluster season due to swell blockage. That hasn’t stopped local ripper Braiden Maither, a disciple of the Island’s deep tubes, big airs and hard-charging spirit, from stringing together a solid edit at home. “Torqued” is a clip-stack from sessions when the surf kicked-up over the last two months. “I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis a few years back, which is an arthritis in the spine,” Maither said. “So the title of the edit refers to how my body feels after most swells and sessions.” If anything’s worth torquing your spine over, it’s windswept ramps, tubes and a Pe’ahi session. Hit play to watch Maither trade pain for pleasure. In the second episode of Billabong’s new series, “Know the Feeling”, ex-Tour shredder Laura Enever tours Sri Lanka and gets a taste of the country’s s Kassia Meador, Kelia Moniz, CJ Nelson, Victoria Vergara, Evan Mock and Leah Dawson make up the most diverse team in surfing On the eve of the Kelly Slater versus Filipe Toledo quarterfinals at the Corona Bali Pro, we thought it was fitting to re-wat...
